  1. Hi Lizzy! This was such a fun article to read, and I appreciate you taking the time to summarize these amazing options for DIY dollhouse plans. One of my close friends is about to have a baby girl, and I know that this will be of great interest to her. I am also wondering if I should keep it a secret and gift her a dollhouse myself! These are super helpful suggestions that will inform which one I purchase in the near future.

  3. Thank you for this very helpful information. I have been interested in dollhouses and miniatures practically all my life (my parents gave me my first dollhouse at age 7), and featured a dollhouse I made and decorated from a Greenleaf kit at a Cleveland Home & Flower Show in 1981. Because I worked full time and had a lot of other interests over the years (making costumes for Victorian and Medieval events, singing, etc.), the dollhouse was stashed away in the attic for 30+ years. The winter of 2021, I brought it back downstairs, cleaned it up, and displayed it for Christmas. Since then, my love for miniatures has blossomed again. This past Fall & Winter, I decorated an unfinished wooden dollhouse, which someone had donated to a homeless family shelter, and presented it back to the shelter before Christmas. The staff loved it. I told them that even though it was for the children, they could play with it whenever they wanted! Wish I could show you pictures of these two dollhouses.
I’ve been looking for a pattern that has three rooms on the main floor. Most kits and patterns seem to have only two rooms on the main floor, which means I can only have a kitchen and living room, or a dining and living room. I’d also like to make a Tudor style dollhouse some day.

    • Hello Liz !

(having the same name is always fun haha)

Thank you so much for telling your story here and I actually would love to create a Tudor-style dollhouse some day as well, what a coincidence! I have this old book,of which I think it is not even sold anymore, and I will surely give it a try, someday.
Have you seen the Tudor homes from Kevin Jackson before? They are so lovely, totally my style!
I wish you happy continuous crafting
