The 9 Dollhouse YouTubers I Keep Going Back To.

I’ve been watching miniature creators on YouTube for years, and enjoyed these terrific tutorials immensely.

But honestly, every time I open YouTube lately, I have to scroll past dozens of short-form clips before I find the real, in-depth miniature tutorials I actually want to watch.

Shorts are everywhere now. It’s obvious where the platform’s focus (and ad money) has shifted. I think that’s a shame.

Because dollhouse building takes time. Technique. Patience. And the kind of long-form explanation you simply can’t squeeze into 45 seconds.

So I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the miniature pros I truly admire.

Now, just to be clear: I don’t put myself in this category at all. On my own YouTube channel (@EverythingVerySmall), I focus mostly on beginner-friendly projects and working with everyday materials. My goal is to make miniatures accessible and doable on a rainy day with your kids 🙂

And you can use my tutorials as a basis to just finish them in your own way. I just wanted to make this clear once more, because some people on my new Facebook page can get a bit nasty about it. Oh well. 🙂

But the artists below? These are serious miniature builders with great skill and long-form tutorials worth watching!

Here are the ones I keep returning to.

1. Bentley House Minis

Bentley House Minis is one of the most recognizable names in the dollhouse space, and she has even created a museum piece!

She’s known for full dollhouse renovations — often taking dated houses and transforming them room by room into cohesive, beautifully styled interiors. What I appreciate most is the clarity of her process. You see structural changes, furniture builds, layout decisions, and the reasoning behind design choices.

If you enjoy seeing an entire dollhouse evolve over multiple episodes, this is the channel to watch.

2. Queen City Minis

Queen City Minis combines strong craftsmanship with a very polished presentation.

Her renovation series is detailed and thoughtful. She doesn’t rush the process, and you really see how a space develops from empty shell to finished room.

If you like structured builds with a clear vision behind them, you’ll appreciate her work. And her From Trash to Treasure projects are a huge inspiration source for me.

3. Little Gretchen’s Workshop

This is traditional miniature craftsmanship at a high level.

Little Gretchen focuses heavily on woodworking techniques and realistic construction. Her furniture builds are precise, often using proper joinery techniques scaled down. There’s a seriousness to the craft that I deeply respect.

Check out her tutorial of a mini kitchen stove made from wood, as an example (click on the picture to take you there)

If you want to understand how real miniature furniture is constructed — not just assembled — this channel is invaluable.

4. Hanabira

Hanabira creates incredibly detailed miniature interiors, often with a soft, realistic aesthetic.

Her long-form videos show the full process: walls, flooring, furniture, decor. Although her videos are not in English, they are easy to follow.

The finishing is meticulous. There’s a calmness to the pacing that makes it easy to follow the techniques.

If you love delicate interiors and detailed finishing work, this channel is inspiring.

5. Miss Mini Life

Miss Mini Life leans toward vintage interiors. I especially love this miniature King’s feast scenery. (click on the picture below)

I like that she balances realism with creativity — the spaces feel lived-in but still carefully styled.

6. Gina’s Miniature Studio

Gina focuses on traditional dollhouse rooms and practical builds.

While her channel is small and I don’t think she still makes new videos, her tutorials are clear and instructional, without unnecessary distractions. You see how items are constructed step by step, and she explains material choices in a way that’s approachable.

I love, for example, how she explains in a soft voice how to create a realistic brick crumbling plaster:

If you want steady, process-driven tutorials, this channel delivers that consistently.

7. Penny’s Small Space

Penny creates smaller-scale interior scenes with a very cozy atmosphere.

What I enjoy here is the attention to small details — textiles, color combinations, subtle accessories. Her builds often feel intimate and thoughtfully arranged.

And most of all, they look perfect!

If you enjoy refined, compact room builds, you’ll likely appreciate her style.

8. TinyKeyholeMinis

TinyKeyholeMinis focuses largely on furniture and decor pieces, and I looove how she animates her videos. Like the little grandma vacuuming the house, right in the video below 🙂 (click on the picture)

Her tutorials are practical and easy to follow, but the results look polished. There’s a strong emphasis on proportion and clean finishing, which is crucial in 1:12 scale.

If you’re specifically looking to improve your miniature furniture skills, this is a great channel to study.

9. Julie Warren

Last, but not least, and one of the biggest channels online, is by Julie Warren. I am assuming you already know her for sure, because she has also written quite a few dollhouse books!

Click on the image below to take you to her amazing channel, right from the UK!

There’s a strong sense of respect for traditional dollhouse craftsmanship in her videos. You’ll see careful repairs, upgrades, and thoughtful improvements rather than quick makeovers.

If you appreciate classic dollhouses and preserving their character, you’ll enjoy her approach.

My Final Conclusion

Miniatures are not fast content. They require planning, cutting, sanding, measuring, adjusting, and redoing.

Short clips can be fun and inspiring. But if you want to actually improve your skills, these long-form creators are where the real depth lives.

And while my own channel focuses on approachable builds using everyday materials, I’ll always point to these artists when someone wants to go deeper, more refined, more technical.

They’re the professionals!

I wish you happy crafting!

Kind regards,

Lizzy
