Hi Lizzy, crafting dollhouses, miniatures and figurines is very interesting to me. It brought back fond memories of my childhood days in the kindergarden. There are so many varieties of dollhouses and characters to choose from. Like the adorable animals, prince and princess, castles etc. Life was very simple back then. And the girls loved to play with it. A good time for family bonding between the parents and siblings. Playing the different characters. I could remembered cutting the paper characters out and paste them in school. There were lots of fun. It improve the motor skills of the children while setting it up. I learned to be more patient. As i grew up, more fantastic toys were created. Really miss those good old childhood days.

Warm regards,

David Koh

Hi Lizzy, thank you for this wonderful article.. These 3d puzzles are going to be so much fun putting together. Me and my girls are all board gamed out. I would want to purchase several of them. Do you know if there are any discounts offered for the purchase of more than one?

Hello,

It looks like a lot of fun for the kids and adults to make a dollhouse! Especially this time when kids are out of school.

I like your detailed explanation of what pieces are missing or different colors, but overall the result is perfect. And the images are lovely! (I don't like the idea that the dollhouse is made in China, but looks like almost everything made in China).

My grandson likes ( me too) to do little projects like birdhouses, puzzles, so I will offer him to build the dollhouse. It will be good practice for him ( and me too) to make a little house for his younger sister. It will be the first time for him to do a " big" project for somebody.

Nice post and pictures, detailed explanation tempting to buy for granddaughter as a birthday gift.

Woaaaa this brings me back to my childhood!

I always love small things like this since I was a child. I love looking at them and admire every single details: the sign with tiny tittles, the colors of the plants, tiny things in a tiny box etc. This is indeed an art with patience and dedication.

Thank you for not only such a great post but also a great website as a whole. I also really like your post on 'From Trash To Treasures Ideas – Make Miniatures From Scratch'. My mouth dropped seeing the transformation, especially how you made the coffee pot from a piece of paper.

Awesome!
Tam.

Lizzy,

What a fascinating hobby! It amazes me how such tiny things can be so beautifully detailed!

Your website is welcoming, colorful, and fun to visit--everything I'm personally attracted to when searching for info/ideas.

I don't have a lot of space or time, but would love to learn how to create a dollhouse or garden or something. After perusing your site--seeing photos and printables list and Harry Potter book nook and the red dresser :D--my interest is really piqued.

I'm a bit older than you :D, but I also had a love for very small houses, furniture, people, animals, plants, etc as a child/teen.

I love your idea to build a "chaotic" treehouse with trolls! Please post photos of your progress.

A curious question or 2: What project would you suggest for a total beginner? A beginner who doesn't want to use a saw (at least not yet). And how much time each day do you spend on your work?

Looking forward to what comes next....

Cheers,

Tammy

Hi Tammy!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, it brightens my day !

I will sure post photos and even a video of the finished treehouse in the future, keep up with my 'personal work';-)

About your question: I would start out with a dollhouse kit , preferably a more easy one then Cathy's flower house, like this one from Robotime . So you can see if it is something you would like to do and make yourself, you don't need a saw for these. All crafting materials are included, except things like scissors / a ruler etc..

I spend about 2 hours a day on crafting something, on a kit or working on my treehouse or fairy gardens or sometimes I spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking for ideas lol. There's always something to be done in the miniature world, it's such a wide hobby!

Happy crafting !

kind regards,

Lizzy

Wow! What an amazing article on a greenhouse kit. You covered everything in thorough detail and made me want to buy one, even though I don't have time to put one together, Ha, ha. Other than a few misspellings, your article was complete and very nice to read through. It gave all the details and showed the pros and cons of the kit. I loved it!

Keep up the great work. I can see that your articles and website are taking off really well.

Hello and thank you for your review.  First of all I have never had any experience assembling such a miniature kit.  However, it does seem to have a certain level of tedium which I can relate to.  My craft of choice is leather working.  The two things I enjoy the most are carving/tooling the leather and lacing.  Both of which happen to be the most tedious things to do.
Do you display your miniature kits as stand alone or are they part of a larger display?  They sort of remind me of the kind of detail some people would put into their model train displays.
It's unfortunate you had some difficulties with missing pieces and colours not matching.  They sound like quality control issues that hopefully the company is working towards resolving.  The issue with the instructions not making sense could be related to problems with translation.
Cheers,
David

Hi David,

I think you are totally right about the missing quality control issues and I have read that the support off the company is getting better and better, especially if people would contact the mail address that is showing in my article, then they help you out with any missing pieces or a missing tutorial etc.

I intend to one the one hand, spread out my personal miniature work around the house, but the miniature kits will be made onto a 'street', right beside each other. Work around it with diorama scenes.

Happy crafting !

Lizzy

Wow! Patience is a virtue. But I do have to say that this miniature kit for a greenhouse looks realistic and fun! I can see where I would get addicted really quick and get lost in time for a day or more not realizing the time passing. It looks like it is time for me to start a new hobby!

Your website is well designed and easy to navigate. As an amateur of miniatures, really someone that likes to admire the hard work that goes into creating dollhouses and miniature designs, I found your website welcoming and easy to find information. I looked for an article on how to start in creating a dollhouse or miniature design. I was able to find the post about miniature dollhouse kits. A pretty good place to start. The post provides 9 examples of miniature dollhouse kits with information for the reader to decide which one is best for them to start. Your website has eye-catching pictures to draw the reader in. The menu is visible and in a central location. I like how you have previous and current articles listed in categories on the right side of the page. This makes it easy for the reader to search for the post that they may need. I think your website is great for experts and the novice or amateur admirer of dollhouse and miniature designs.

Thank you so much for sharing a beautiful and insightful article with us. The prime element of this article is Review Of Cathy’s Flower House. It is truly impressive that you covered this subject so well in your post. I've learned a lot from reading your article and developed a lot of knowledge about Robotime Miniature Kit DIY  DG104. I like the Good side of Robotime Miniature Kit DIY of the points mentioned in your article. I bought it a few days ago which has doubled the beauty of my house. Because it is as colorful as it looks.
Lastly, I would like to say that those who have some extra want with the beauty of the house, then you must buy it which will bring out the beauty of your inner beauty.

Wow, this is a very nice doll house if you ask me. I love to out my creativity to test but I have never tried a miniature dollhouse before. It seems to me like I would need a good amount of patience to be able to pull this off but I don't mind it at all seeing that I would eventually create something spectacular as this is just enough motivation for me to do it.
