For many miniature hobbyists, the time spent on assembling a dollhouse kit is part of the enjoyment.

A lengthy process can feel like solving a challenging puzzle, and the final result brings a strong sense of pride. I know I was darn proud when I finally finished Cathy's Flower house and all the issues this kit has.

So if you're looking for a challenge and something that you can enjoy for a longer time: below is a list of DIY house kits known for their extended assembly times, ideal for those who appreciate a project that requires patience and attention to detail.

Here, I'm mentioning the most known brands though, there are others on Etsy and more!

Robotime Kits

Robotime offers several projects that are designed to demand a significant investment of time. These kits are well-suited for those looking for a prolonged assembly process:

  • Rolife Emily's Flower Shop

    View details
A detailed kit that requires about 20-24 hours to complete, perfect for enthusiasts who enjoy working slowly through intricate components.

  • Rolife Miller's Garden

    View details

This kit provides a lot of plants and flowers and has a few challenges along the way, like the plant rack made from metal wires. I have assembled this one myself. And for me, I would say that I have spend at least 25 hours on this one, but I could be the slow one lol.

  • Rolife Cathy's Flower House

    View details

Cathy's Greenhouse by Robotime is regularly one of the first kits that starters get as a present, and it was my first one too. I can tell you that I almost gave up on these kits, especially because the floor was warped! Because of these issues, I remember spending at least 30 hours or so, also because of the many plants and flowers!

  • Rolife Dora's Loft

    View details

A kit that challenges builders with a variety of components and a complex design that extends the build time. What most people are struggling with in this kit, is the staircase, which seems to give some frustration 🙂

Cutebee Kits

Cutebee also has larger kits that naturally require more time to complete. These projects are designed for those who enjoy spending many hours on a single project:

  • Cutebee Rose Garden Tea House

    View details

A larger set that offers a detailed beautiful layout, and seems to have some issues with the rooftop that need some patience or creative solutions 🙂

  • Cutebee Dream Building Pavilion

    View details

Designed to be a comprehensive project, this kit is where the longer work begins and challenges you with an extensive build that takes time to complete, about 30 hours. Are you up to the challenge?

One of the hardest things to do with these larger kits is the lighting.

  • Cutebee Big Japanese courtyard model

    View details

Another large-scale kit that I just love to look at, it has so many details and it takes 40 hours of fun to assemble! The advantage of this one is also that it has an Asian theme, I just love that.

  • Cutebee Bamboo Charm

    View details

Bamboo Charm aka 'Cozy Time', a DIY kit from Cutebee, focuses more on a modern style instead of an Asian style and it has multiple rooms instead of just a one-time room box. It takes about 25 hours to create.

These kits are ideal for hobbyists who find satisfaction in a long and steady build. The extended assembly time means you can enjoy the process as much as the final result, making each completed kit a testament to your patience and skill.

Feel free to share your own experiences or suggest additional kits that keep you busy for quite some time!
Happy crafting!
