Creating miniatures can be both enjoyable and challenging.
Here are some practical tips and some humorous and more serious anecdotes from fellow enthusiasts when asked the question in Facebook groups, to help you avoid some issues.

Secure Your Hair
"If your hair is long, put it up... All the way. I once glued a stool to my ponytail."
=>Oh wow! 🤣

Pet Precautions
"Make sure your cats are NOT in the room."
==> We all have been there when you have cats, no? 😀

"When using hot glue… don’t touch it… it’s hot."

"Don't cut fabric on the bed... I have a nice hole in my blanket."
=> I thought that I was clumsy haha!

"Clearly mark your cups 'paint water' and 'coffee'."

Avoid Alcohol
"Don't have wine/gin while you're making miniatures... the results will be disappointing the next day."
==> One glass of whine per day keeps the doctor away though (or not?)

"Have a dedicated area where you can leave things to dry safely overnight."

"Don’t drink too much coffee or caffeine before working with miniatures. Your hands will be shaking."

"Don’t work in long stretches. Take breaks and take magnifying glasses off. This prevents headaches and lets your eyes rest."

"I use a thick plastic cutting board to protect my table or bed."

"Don't assume that being miniatures you will only need a desk and one shelf and a few tools."

Avoid Late-Night Sessions
"Don't start projects after 10pm before you know it’s 4am and the sun's about to come up again."
