In the series of doll house plans, today we will be diving into the world of Barbie doll house plans and it will be the first time that I will be actually talking about Barbie.
In this case, building a Barbie dollhouse from scratch seems like a fun DIY project as well, just like making your own Barbie clothes or other dolls' clothes, so that got my attention 😉
Update 31/05/26
What are the typical characteristics of a Barbie dollhouse?
Barbie dollhouses are usually built in a large 1:6 scale, since Barbie dolls are around 11.5 inches tall. That means the rooms, furniture, and accessories all need to be much bigger than in a standard 1:12 dollhouse.
Most Barbie houses include several rooms, such as a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and sometimes even extras like pools, offices, or patios.
The overall style is often bright and playful, with lots of pinks, pastel colors, colorful wallpaper, and modern furniture.
Many Barbie dollhouses also include fun interactive features like opening doors, elevators, lights, or movable accessories to make play more realistic.
Another common feature is customization. Some Barbie dollhouses can be expanded over time with extra rooms, furniture, or accessories, which makes them popular for larger DIY projects.
