You finish a miniature kit, step back to admire your work… and then what? Do you proudly display it on a shelf? Rotate them out seasonally? Gift them to friends and family? Or, if space is tight, do you have to part with some?
It turns out, everyone seems to have a different way of handling their finished kits. Some display them in cabinets, on bookshelves, or even as part of their seasonal decor. Others give them away—whether as gifts for loved ones or donations to people who will appreciate them. And then there are those who love the hobby so much that they keep making kits despite running out of space (we’ve all been there, right?).
A few people even let their grandkids or family members play with them, which might mean the occasional repair job—but also a lot of joy. Some have entire collections tucked away in storage, while others incorporate miniatures into creative projects like shadow boxes, repurposed containers, or even furniture displays.
Me? I'm either kitbashing some, or collecting them on my bookshelves. The only problem is that I am running out of bookshelves- lol.
So, what about you? Are your finished kits proudly on display, carefully stored away, or given new life elsewhere? Or do you have a different approach entirely?
Let’s hear it—what happens to your miniatures after they’re finished? 😊
