Hi everyone,
When it comes to decorating your dollhouse, wallpaper can make a big difference. But you don’t always need to buy something expensive—there are lots of materials you can use. Here are some ideas:
-
Printable Dollhouse Wallpaper
This is the material that is used the most. There are lots of free wallpaper printables (like, for example, you get a free printable each week in my newsletter), but you can also find ready-to-print wallpaper files on Etsy that you simply download, print, cut, and glue.

Scrapbook Paper
Widely available in craft stores or online, scrapbook paper is thick, easy to handle, and comes in all kinds of prints. You can even find miniature-specific versions.
-
Wrapping Paper
Lightweight and full of creative patterns, wrapping paper works well in small sections. Just avoid anything too shiny or metallic unless that’s the look you’re after.
-
Fabric or Textured Paper
Thin cotton or linen fabric can look great as wallpaper and adds a cozy feel. You can find miniature-appropriate fabric prints online, too.

Gift Bags or Shopping Bags
If you receive a gift bag with a nice print, keep it! It can be reused as dollhouse wallpaper, especially for kids' rooms or playful settings.
-
Book or Magazine Pages
Vintage books or old magazines can be repurposed—try using patterned pages or illustrations.
-
Contact Paper / Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper
Easy to apply and reposition. Look for ones that aren’t too thick so they’ll sit flush on your dollhouse walls. Peel-and-stick dollhouse wallpaper can also be used for other purposes in your dollhouse besides walls.

Decoupage Napkins or Tissue Paper
These can give your walls a delicate, romantic texture. Use decoupage glue to apply. -
Old Greeting Cards or Stationery
Sometimes cards have patterns or designs that are perfect in scale. They’re also a great way to reuse paper.
-
Paper Placemats
Paper placemats from cafes or restaurants often have vintage-style prints that work great in miniature kitchens or dining rooms.
-
Old Calendars
If you have a calendar you’re done with, flip through for scenic or themed pages that could work as wallpaper.
To stick these down, use a regular glue stick, double-sided tape, or spray adhesive depending on the weight of the material. For thin or delicate papers, decoupage glue like Mod Podge works well.
