Hey everyone,

First off, I just wanted to say—I'm sorry if my recent question on my Facebook group about whether there's a limit to spending on the dollhouse hobby came off the wrong way! I definitely didn’t mean to judge anyone, and I appreciate all of your honesty. 😊

Honestly, your answers were fantastic and gave me such a range of perspectives that I felt it was worth sharing them here (keeping it all anonymous, of course!). Some of you laughed at the idea of a "budget," and others had a careful approach. Either way, one thing was clear—it's all about joy!

Here's what some of you shared:

  • No Budget Club: Lots of you said, "What's a budget?!" 😂 And hey, why not? As long as it makes you happy and doesn't hurt your finances, there's no reason to hold back.

  • Make Your Own Rules: Many people set their own limits based on what brings them joy or what they can afford, which makes perfect sense. Some mentioned that they "buy what brings them joy," and others said they'd pay bills first and then party with their minis.

  • DIY Heroes: I loved reading about those of you who prefer to make everything yourselves or mostly buy used items. It’s amazing to see what creativity can do with a budget of just $25 a week or even less!

  • Splurge or Save: Some of you do keep budgets—like around $500 per year or $70 for a project—but you also shared that it’s all about finding the balance. Saving for that one special piece or knowing what’s really worth the splurge is part of the fun.

So, what did I learn? Dollhouse lovers are the best, and we all make it work our own way. Whether you're buying artisan-made furniture, waiting for a great deal, or splurging on the next must-have kit, it's all about what makes YOU happy.

Thank you all again for your responses and for keeping the conversation lively! If anyone wants to add more thoughts, feel free. And, seriously—sorry again if the question came off the wrong way. I love seeing the passion in this community, and I hope to keep having these fun discussions with you all!

Happy crafting!

Lizzy
