It is no secret that I love the DIY miniature tutorials on Domestika.org a lot.
When I first joined Domestika, I didn’t think that there would be so many miniature/scale models and dollhouse-related courses there, as with so many online crafting courses, but it turns out that I was very wrong 😉
That being said, of course, they don’t all have the same quality or things that you might be interested in, so today I am going to compare each one against each other with pros and cons in the next review post!

But First: What are the Miniature tutorials on Domestika.org Again And Why Would You Use Them?
The courses from Domestika are basically courses that you can follow online.
And, as far as I can see anyway, has one of the most expanded databases on all kinds of topics and has worldwide teachers in all kinds of languages.
Just a small list of what is taught on Domestika:
- Almost 50 courses on 3D printing, which is getting quite popular in the miniature world
- Again almost 50 courses on needle felting, punch needle, etc. (I didn’t realize there would be so much to say about these techniques, amazing!)
- 50 different courses on drawing, from beginners to more advanced
- Writing courses, I gave up counting them sorry :-). From storytelling to copywriting
- Fashion and Jewelry making/design
- Art and crafts, from crochet, embroidery, woodworking, and so much more! And of course, our miniatures.
- And finally things like marketing and business, social media skills (how to promote something on Etsy, for example), any kind of software that you want to learn about, etc, etc..
Domestika has a lot more online courses than this list, so if you are looking for something specific, you can always use their search bar!

Now let’s move on to our miniature courses!
Reviews On Miniature Tutorials on Domestika.org.
You might wonder, did Lizzy check these out all herself? Yes indeed, that is exactly what Lizzy did haha, simply because I am addicted 😉
And I wish they would have a lot more miniature courses in the near future, I would LOVE it!
I used to be prescribed to a website called “dollhouse.tv” or something, but that was years ago and they seemed to have disappeared from the internet, so sad.
With the help of the latter, I even created my mini backyard shed, with a removable roof, which was my first bigger project.
But Domestika seems like a fine replacement (I might be biased 🙂 )
Enough about my personal story, let’s move to the courses 😉
( By the way, clicking on the picture below, takes you to my personal favorite list of courses. I bought most of them, but not all yet )
Dollhouse Course Number 1: Design and build miniature interiors
This course by Jessica Dance is one of the first ones from the miniature tutorials on Domestika.org that I purchased myself.
You will create a final project, a kind of room box, filled with DIY miniatures.
- First, she will explain to you all the materials that you need.
- Next, Jessica shows you how to create your own “mood boards” using Pinterest.
- A lesson on how to scale miniatures and how to make a building plan is also available.
- You will learn how to measure and cut out all the materials to create the room box and how to assemble everything.
- All the miniature furniture that you will create includes a mid-century long chair, a Corona chair, and a coffee table.
- you will also craft some accessories, including a starburst clock, and some miniature books to add to the little coffee table.

Hi everyone!
My name is Lizzy, and I am an amateur miniaturist obsessed with everything in the dollhouse and miniature world, ever since I was a teenager.
So far, I have created 2 dollhouse projects, a backyard shed and a miniature treehouse, tons of DIY dollhouse kits, and “hacked” some.
I also created a fairy garden, and lots of small and simple miniature projects on my YouTube channel. (mostly made from trash or everyday items).
I love to write as well about all things happening in the miniature world, hence the reason why I created this blog!
I wish you happy reading and crafting!
Lizzy
My wife and grand kids have been making doll houses and doll house furniture. We can across your site as we were looking for more DIY miniature projects that we could do more with our grandchildren. They are ages 4 (girl), 6 (boy) and 9 (girl). We think that they would love doing some of these projects, but (unless we missed it) didn’t really see any that could be do kids of their ages. Can you please guide us and/ or provide a few recommendations for us?
Thank you!
-Mike
