Miniverse Make It Mini is a fun and unique collection of tiny food models made by MGA Entertainment.
If you’ve been on TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen them everywhere—they’re super popular!
What makes Miniverse special is the combination of surprise, creativity, and realism—each set lets you reveal mini ingredients, arrange them, and even add resin to make them look more lifelike.
Personally, I think these can be great for kids, but not so much to stir the creativity of adults, but that’s just me!
Let’s just get over to what they are all about:

The Main Products and Features of Miniverse Make It Mini
Miniverse Make It Mini offers a lot of cool products, like the Cafe and Diner series, each with 18 different mini food items to collect.
These toys come inside surprise balls, so you never know what you’ll get until you open one! The balls contain small “ingredients”, kitchen tools, and others.
Just remember, none of these items are edible—they’re just for fun and display!
They all come with a little manual and instructions:
1. Miniverse Surprise Balls containing mini food.
These surprise balls contain small “ingredients” and kitchen tools, allowing you to create mini food scenes. These are the most popular series by the brand.
You never know what you’ll get until you open one, which adds to the fun! It’s really enjoyable for kids to arrange and display these tiny meals.

Miniverse also offers larger sets, such as the Make It Mini Kitchen and multi-pack food sets.
These larger sets make it easy to create a complete mini kitchen setting with a variety of foods and tools, perfect for collectors who want a more cohesive scene.
This large pack comes with 30 pieces and 5 “recipes” and it contains products in miniature form from Hershey’s, a well-known brand of chocolate in the US.

Are Miniverse Make It Mini Sets Pre-Made or DIY?
A lot of people wonder if Miniverse minis are pre-made or if you make them yourself. The answer is a little bit of both!
The pieces mostly come already put together, but you can add your own touches, like arranging the ingredients and adding the resin glaze to make it look realistic.
This DIY part is really fun because it lets you be creative without it being too hard.
The instructions are simple, and the whole process is enjoyable.
While you could just let the resin dry in the sun, Miniverse also provides a tool: a UV Flashlight for Resin Curing.
Mind you though: this tool is not getting very good reviews.

Most Miniverse items are 1:6 scale, which is also called “playscale.” This means they are too big for the usual 1:12 scale dollhouses, but some people say they might work for a 1:8 scale.
You might have to experiment a bit to see if they fit with your dollhouse.
Some collectors have found creative ways to use these items even if the scale isn’t a perfect match. In fact, the slightly larger size can make the mini food items stand out more, which adds a fun and playful look to your display.
From what age are these suitable for?
These sets are made for kids ages 8 and up, but they can be an addition for adults, creating for example their own DIY dollhouse for their kids.
Even though it can be a bit messy and takes some patience, the finished mini-food items are a wonderful addition to any dollhouse or display.
With how popular these sets are on TikTok and Instagram, it’s easy to find tons of ideas and learn from what other people are doing.
Precautions and Disadvantages of this miniature toy.
On the other side of the fun stuff, comes the bad stuff: I did see lots of people complain about this brand, for these reasons:
- Resin Safety: Resin glaze can be harmful if it comes into contact with skin. Always supervise young children and use resin in a well-ventilated area.
- Gel Allergy Warning: If you or your child has an allergy to gel nail polish, avoid using this product, as it contains similar ingredients and could cause contact dermatitis.
- Choking Hazard: Small pieces are a choking hazard, so these sets are not suitable for very young children.
- Patience Required: Resin takes time to cure, which may require patience.
- Duplicates: The surprise ball concept may result in duplicate items, which could be frustrating.
- To much plastic: they are needlessly additionally wrapped.
My Final Conclusion
Love Miniverse Make It Mini, or hate it, I haven’t decided yet lol. 🙂
Personally, I would focus more on creating minis with the kids from scratch or by using trash, but you might think differently and I sure see the attraction from both children and adults!

Hi everyone!
My name is Lizzy, and I am an amateur miniaturist obsessed with everything in the dollhouse and miniature world, ever since I was a teenager.
So far, I have created 2 dollhouse projects, a backyard shed and a miniature treehouse, tons of DIY dollhouse kits, and “hacked” some.
I also created a fairy garden, and lots of small and simple miniature projects on my YouTube channel. (mostly made from trash or everyday items).
I love to write as well about all things happening in the miniature world, hence the reason why I created this blog!
I wish you happy reading and crafting!

My daughter & her friends (41, 25, & 30) collect these & enjoy little displays of them.
They don’t get repeats because you can look up the codes to get whichever you want
I see Laurinda, thanks for the clarification and to let people know!
