How To Create Miniature Stained Glass And Where To Find Stained Glass Film For A Dollhouse?

While many might associate stained glass with grand churches or historic homes, its scaled-down version can be just as captivating in the world of miniature. Whether you’re sprucing up a cozy cottage, a Victorian manor, or a Gothic castle, adding miniature stained glass can offer a level of (colorful) detail.

In this article, you’re going to learn how this miniature stained glass effect is achieved, either by doing it yourself or buying gorgeous stained glass film for a dollhouse!

How to Craft Your Own Miniature stained glass film and windows?

In the video below, Mini Miracle Maker will teach you how to create miniature stained glass using a cutting machine (probably a Cricut machine) and glass paint.

The creator traced a picture from Google using Silhouette software, cut it using a cutting machine, and then used vinyl sticky foil to represent the lead lines of the stained glass.

The foil was placed on acetate using transfer tape to prevent it from deforming.

Glass paint was then applied to add color to the stained glass, with darker colors applied to smaller pieces and lighter colors to larger pieces to maximize the light passing through.

After the paint dried, any excess paint was removed, and the stained glass windows were assembled.
