Thanks for sharing places to get free miniature printables!  I am always on the hunt for free, lol!  My search results weren't too successful, I actually hadn't thought of searching on Pinterest, so thank you for that.

There are so many cute miniature dollhouse printables available.  I am currently in the process of making a miniature dollhouse for my niece for Christmas, so I am gathering some ideas.

Thank you also for sharing your tips on how to print them.  In the past, I have struggled with getting the printouts to not be blurry, I probably used the wrong type of paper.  I will take your advice and use a thicker type of paper.

We all have been there when you are into this hobby: the miniature dollhouse printables, there is no way to avoid them if you want a miniature kitchen, for example, right?

Rest assured, like anyone else out there, I tried to print these in the right size/scale or on the right paper, and failed many times.

So today, I will try to tell you everything you need to know about miniature dollhouse printables: where to find them, how to print them, etc, let's go!

But first: what do we use miniature dollhouse printables for ?

Well, there are extensive options for using miniature printables, a little list:

• Print out miniature paper rugs
• miniature bookcovers
• Print out paper boxes, for example little Amazon boxes

• print out (glossy) miniature wallpaper
• print out miniature food (cans, cereal boxes, and so much more)
• print out leaves for plants, petals, etc..
• printables for all kinds of boxes (shoes, mini-games, storage boxes, etc)
• labels for soda/beer/wine bottles, etc..
• miniature shopping bag labels..
• miniature paintings and drawings..
• mini posters and pictures..
• Halloween - printables..
• dollhouse furniture printables
• and so much more!

I'm sure that I have forgotten lots of the possibilities! And I need to mention that these exist for different scales: 1:12, 1:24, and 1:6.

Also, don't forget that you could still decorate your dollhouse without using a printer, but that's another topic :-)

First our main question: how to print miniature dollhouse printables?

Let's head to our little walkthrough on how to print these dollhouse printables, step by step:

The settings of your printer.

Something quite important in this is the settings of your printer.

There's no escaping from this: the better your printer is, the better your printables will likely get.

Make sure that the quality settings are set to the best quality.

Download the files first!

If you try to print the printable just like that (by using a screenshot), it will come out blurry, so make sure to download the file first! This seems a common mistake.

A PDF file is even better for a good result. (don't ask me why haha)

When I send out my newsletters with little printable gifts, I always make sure to turn them into a PDF file first, so that you don't need to worry about that and you will always get the best quality.

If you don't like to have all kinds of printables to print on one piece of paper (and waste a lot of expensive ink), or you would prefer your own collection, you can always copy-paste the printables that you like into a Word document.

Like Ms. Mini Lover explains in her video below. She also explains how to make sure to use the right settings.

Which kind of printing paper?

If the image is still blurry after having set the right settings, this might be due to the quality of the printing paper.

Cheap printing paper will "bleed" the ink, so it is better to use glossy printer paper or quality mat paper if your printer can handle that.

Also use slightly thicker printing paper to matte photo paper.

What if you need to optimize an image?

I have actually never tried going in that direction, but it seems that creators who know how to work with Photoshop, tend to use that kind of software to optimize resizing.

I have also read that when people have an I-phone, they use the free app called "Photo collage-Collageable". So that could be worth it to figure it out.

There are even people creating things like miniature books from the covers of their own real-size books, by using Paint Shop Pro and resampling them down to 8% or 8,3%.

A few more tips.

• So as said before, save yourself some frustration, when making boxes, for example, and use thicker printing paper.

• Someone mentioned that when she put a layer of mod podge on the print, it seemed to bring out the clarity of the finished product. I don't know if that's true though
  
• Others use gloss spray when the printables are printed, to prevent the ink from running

How to use this spray on your printables is explained again in the video below by Ms Mini Lover. The quality of the video is a bit low, but you can surely get the point ;-)

Where To Find (free) miniature dollhouse printables on 1:12 scale?

There are several possibilities and places where you can find mini labels and printables, free or for a very small fee.

Mind you thought that all of these are for personal use only and not intended to make a profit from by reselling, please respect the artists' work, thank you!

Dollhouse websites or blogs.

During the years, I have collected quite some websites or blogs where you can find a bunch of printables, a small list:

• Small stuff website

I am sure that there will be lots more then this list, just google the word "miniature dollhouse printables" and there will be more I would guess;-)

A large database of miniature printables: Pinterest!

Are you on Pinterest yet? I am telling you right here: this is thé place to be if you want to create miniatures/just look at them, follow DIY tutorials and most certainly downloadable and free printables!

On my own Pinterest account, I don't have a dollhouse printables section yet, but I will be adding them in time for sure.

There are so many, that I really believe that you will find almost anything that you need, especially as a beginner.

But let's check out a few accounts, shall we?

• Paperish Printables

This cute little Pinterest account has several different mini printables for all kinds of projects and styles. Not just on a scale of 1:12, but also on a scale of 1:6!

And the thing is, that there are even printables that you can papercraft with to make miniatures, like I sometimes do on my YouTube channel (have you tried one yet?)

• Free Printables miniatures by Sherri

This Pinterest account has A LOT of free printables, it amazes me every time I see something new. Book covers, bottle labels, vintage, all kinds of boxes, etc, there is a lot of choice!

• Free dollhouse printables by Julie McQuade

This account from Julie Mc Quade also has lots of free printables. I have seen lots of games/playing cards, paper doll clothes, paper suitcases, etc.. Go check it out!

Let's look for one more, then I will leave the rest for you to figure out haha ;-)

• Angela Dorrell

This small Pinterest account also has a few downloadable printables for you;-)

So again, I'm quite sure that there are lots more Pinterest accounts that have miniature printables, but that would take this blog post a bit to far to mention them all ;-)

Paid Miniature dollhouse printables for a small fee.

And then finally, you could pay a small amount of money to get exclusive or rare printables. Mostly these are available on my favorite store: Etsy.
