Haha, don't be scared lol ! I am glad though that you like this style, except for the pink haha. 

But pink doesn't need to be included, you could just keep it white, with some black accents or 'earthy' colors ;-)

While I thought that I had every dollhouse style and their corresponding miniatures covered, I still discover other styles regularly. So last week, I came across some fantastic shabby chic decorating ideas for your dollhouse and miniatures and a new blog post idea was born!

First, I looked into the "big world" for shabby chic decorating ideas, and going from there, I tried to look for examples in the miniature world to see if any professional miniaturists specialized in these, and what do you know: they did!

And while I was looking into these, I might as well give a little bit of explanation on what this style is exactly, so let's dive into things!

But First: What Is The Shabby Chic Style?

The shabby chic style is a bit similar to the country home's living style.

It resembles a style where you could buy everything from a flea market and patch it up, but it's not quite the same.

Although antique and vintage furniture can be found in these interiors.

The literal meaning of shabby is 'worn out and bald'.

Therefore, the furniture of this interior is often weathered, used, or peeling off.

Shabby Chic doesn't necessarily mean vintage or antique, but rather like a version of the vintage look, which is just a bit more romantic and feminine.

Because of the feminine side, you will see many white and antique shapes and materials, and a lot of them include floral patterns in this style.

This style is very suitable for combining with a rural cottage or a French or Bohemian interior.

What immediately caught my attention was the amount of hand-finished detail — aged paintwork, lace, dried flowers, moss, and all the little vintage touches that make it feel more like a miniature artwork than a standard dollhouse.

The house is fairly large at about 21 inches tall and wide, so it’s definitely more of a collector’s display piece than a small beginner project. According to the seller, every piece is handmade and slightly unique, which explains the high price tag of around $2,200.

Serendipitymini created this charming 1:12 scale shabby chic toy shop with a soft French vintage look. I really like how lived-in and cozy it feels, especially with the aged blue paint, worn white walls, tiny postcards in the mail slot, and shelves packed with miniature toys and books.

The whole shop has that “old little corner store” atmosphere that makes you want to keep zooming in to spot more details. The blue counter, vintage cash register, bunting, and wallpaper all work together without looking overly polished, which actually adds to the charm.

This one has already sold, but the seller offers custom orders in similar styles or even different themes like a ballet shop or haberdashery. With an 8–10 week lead time and a price around $2,000, it’s clearly aimed more at serious collectors who appreciate handcrafted miniature scenes with lots of personality.
